This how-to guide will show you how to cast on with two needles. Since the start is always the hardest part, we are explaining every step in detail with pictures and also show you a video at the end of this post. Two Needle Cast On Guide
Start to cast on by making a slip-knot in the yarn made so that the tail end tightens the knot of the stitch and the ball end tightens the loop that is the stitch itself.
Place the left hand needle through the slip knot from left to right keeping the tail to the left and tighten the stitch to a working size.
Insert the right hand needle into the slip knot stitch from the front, towards the back, passing under the left hand needle.
Take the ball end of the yarn and wrap it round the point of the right hand needle round the back, towards the front.
Pull the new loop through the slip knot stitch and place the new loop back onto the left hand needle. You now have two stitches on the left hand needle.
Next insert the right hand needle between the two stitches on the left hand needle and wrap the yarn around as before. Pull this new loop through and place it back on the left handle needle as the third stitch.
Continue in this way, inserting the right hand needle between the last two stitches on the left hand needle and pulling the loop through to make a new stitch until you have cast on the required number of stitches.
